Kirkjufell Mountain is one of the most famous mountains in the world. The mountain is the 6th most photographed mountain in the world and photographers from all over the world travel to Grundarfjörður just to get the perfect photo of Kirkjufell Mountain and Kirkjufell waterfall. On this tour you can do the same.
Kirkjufellsfoss is a beautiful waterfall located next to Kirkjufell Mountain. Many photographers like to take a picture of the waterfall with the mountain in background. From the right side of the waterfall you can capture the waterfall with the breathtaking mountain in the background.
Djúpalónssandur is a black sand beach and bay on the foot of Snæfellsjökull glacier. When you come there you will feel like stepping into a lava wonderland. The bay was once home to sixty fishing boats and one of the most prolific fishing villages on the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Today the bay is uninhabited.
This black beach is absolutely beautiful and not as crowded as the famous Reynisfjara black sand beach.
Arnarstapi is a small fishing village on the south side of Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The place was an important trading post in the past and had a much bigger population than it has now. It is fantastic to walk along the coastline to see the bird life and the magnificent lava formations. The seaside and the cliffs between Arnarstapi and Hellnar have been made a Natural Reverse in 1979.
The columnar basalt and cliff formations at Arnarstapi are absolutely beautiful and you can also take a walk to one of Iceland‘s most beautiful harbors.
