Going to the Golden Circle is a must do tour if you are a first timer in Iceland. The Golden Circle features some of Iceland’s most recognizable sites including Þingvellir National Park, Geysir and Gullfoss. Along the way you will also visit an old volcanic crater and waterfalls. There are quite a few places to see but all are within short distance from each other.
If you have any suggestions or if you would like to add other activities to the tour, please mention it in special requests and we will make it happen.
After picking you up from your accommodation, will head 45 minutes out of Reykjavík towards Þingvellir national park. The national park is special for two major reasons. Here you can clearly see the meeting point of the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates and it also the home of the former Althingi (Viking Parliament), the oldest parliamentary site in the world. Þingvellir has been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
After we have explored Þingvellir we will carry on through the national park and head towards Haukadalur where Geysir is located.
Geysir is a geothermal area that features numerous of geysers. Strokkur is the most active of them all and erupts on average every five minutes.
Our next stop will be at Gullfoss waterfall. This magnificent waterfall demonstrates just how small and weak us humans are compared to mother nature.
After visiting Gullfoss we will have a few different options before we go to Kerið Crater. If you are limited with time, we can head back to Reykjavík. We can also go down to Flúðir and visit theFriðheimar Greenhouse or the Secret Lagoon geothermal pool.
On this private tours we take from 1-7 people for a fixed price. More people better means price per person
